Social Media Mastery Conference Vancouver, A Review

On February 21, 2015 over 200 like-minded individuals gathered at the Diamond Ballroom in Vancouver, ready to tap into the full potential of using social media to promote their businesses. With a full day of speakers lined-up, and a wide variety of topics covered, there was information available to help everyone master their preferred platforms. We even discovered the value of some platforms that we may not otherwise have considered as candidates for becoming valuable business tools–like SnapChat!

Shortly after 9 am, Executive Director of Social Media Mastery, Ricky Shetty, took to the to share his story, and the passion behind what he does–a desire to help build strong families and a sense of community.

Each speaker who took to the stage throughout the day was extremely knowledgable on the topic that they covered, and I found myself engaged and entertained. The day was paced nicely and – with short breaks for stretching between speakers – we were kept alert and comfortable. By the time the last speaker left the stage, I had a list of notes which I have since used to make simple (but meaningful) adjustments to my social media marketing strategies. You can have a look at the speakers and the topics covered here.

I would highly recommend this event and others like it, not only to gain valuable insight into mastering the use of social media–but also as a wonderful means to connect with other professionals in the Vancouver area over a common interest. A couple of breaks during the day allowed time for connecting with other attendees.

The energy in the Diamond Ballroom that day was palpable, and as we all filed out of the room at the end, there was an air of excitement to get online and implement our newly-gained knowledge.

Here’s a look at the highlights:

Ricky Shetty puts on many business building events in Vancouver, and the next will be a weekend-long Blog Mastery Conference towards the end of April. Learn more

House Divided Blog Tour

By Jennifer Peel

Against the odds and against the rules, Ellie Eaton and Brady Jackson dove right into a forbidden friendship and then love. Their sweet, innocent romance was one for the storybooks, but old rules and family prejudices ultimately tore them apart.

Years later, when near tragedy strikes, they’re brought together again and given a second chance at love, this time with help from some very unlikely sources.

House Divided is a sweet romance filled with southern charm, a dash of humor and, for good measure, a pinch of lies and intrigue. [Read more…]

About that St. Patrick’s Day Leprechaun #stpatricksday

St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick’s Day is a holiday that honours St. Patrick and celebrates all things Irish. Every year on March 17th, kids dress up in green so they are “pinch proof” and try to catch the elusive St. Patrick’s Day leprechaun.

The St. Patrick’s Day leprechaun is an Irish fairy! Usually fairies are delicate and pretty, but this one sure isn’t!  He stands about 2 feet tall, has pointy ears, dressed in all green and carries around a big stick that he uses to scare people who are trying to steal his pot of gold!

It is said that the St Patrick’s Day leprechaun is always on the search for more gold which is to be waiting at the end of a rainbow! We have been trying for many years to catch this little bugger whom leaves a horrible mess in our house as he searches for his next treasure.

Here are our last two years leprechaun traps, which sadly did not trap that little bugger!
