Peekaboo Beans has graciously sent us a couple of outfits from their gorgeous collection to try. I received the beautifully wrapped box today in the mail and was truly impressed with the presentation of the items. Each outfit was wrapped in a cellophane bag with a temporary tattoo, pencil, lolly-pop and a reusable Peekaboo Beans bag. Upon opening the bags, I immediately noticed the quality of these pieces. The fabric is soft, thick and durable and there are so many little details that make their clothing so special. I received a long sleeved pink top (Feathered Friends Tee) with a pair of Charcoal pants (Floweresque) and a Tree Top Tee in Kelly Green with Navy Outward Bound Pants. All of the items have removable tags so they don’t itch or irritate the skin. [Read more…]
Over the past week my daughters and I have been enjoying some time together making and using four of the many do-it-yourself craft kits available from Kiss Naturals.
These Canadian-made DIY projects are a ton of fun for creative girls! Each kit comes with all of the items needed to make a fun, all natural bath or body product in only a few simple steps. They are easy enough for older children to do alone (supervision recommended), and younger kids can do plenty with just a little bit of help. And because they are made with only a few natural ingredients, they are even gentle on sensitive skin!
LostMy.Name started out as a do-it-yourself project between four men and has turned into a Dragon’s Den success story. These days, thousands of their beautifully illustrated, personalized books (for children ages two to six) are being printed and shipped worldwide each day.
Each book tells the tale of a child who has lost their name, and sets out to find the letters. They meet strange and wondrous creatures along the way, and each character gives the child the first letter of their name. When the story winds to a close, the young reader will be in awe to discover that it is their own name that was missing all along.
I’m an admitted chocoholic. There is nothing I love more than than a sweet treat paired with a hot cup of coffee. And when I first decided to put together a holiday gift guide, I knew that I had to tell people about Fraser Valley Gourmet.
Last summer while visiting Hopcott Meats in Pitt Meadows, I had the opportunity to try Fraser Valley Gourmet’s Almond Butter Crunch. A few minutes after first tasting it, I wandered back to the sampling table and sheepishly asked if I could sneak a second piece. The woman at the table smiled at me and told me to help myself – she knows how hard it is to take just one bite! [Read more…]
That is the number of necklaces that have been lost or broken over the years due to one of my sons pulling at or chewing on them. And if they were not lost or broken they were covered in drool from my sons chewing and sucking on the cold chain to sooth their aching gums. I am at the point now with my 3 month old son Marcus that I just choose not to wear a necklace. He has discovered how to use those little hands so now everything that he can grab goes right into this mouth. So when I was asked if I would like to test out some Chewbeads you bet I jumped at the chance.
Nestled inside the Fuller Salon in Coquitlam, Skindulgence Spa – The Urban Retreat is a hidden gem. Last Saturday I visited for a facial and was greeted warmly by the salon staff. A moment later the owner of the spa, Tazeem Jamal, PMDT, LE, came out to offer me a cup of her signature blend lavender flower and peppermint leaf tea. I sipped it and browsed the array of high quality skincare products that she has available for purchase while she prepared the room.
I have a confession to make…
I sometimes use my tablets as a babysitter. Yes, sometimes when I really just need to get dinner made or put that last load of laundry away, I will hand my 3 and 5 year old the tablets and let them watch TV to their heart’s content.
